About Charles

A guitarist since 1978, Charles is an honors graduate of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, where he studied under master musicians Carl Schroeder and Ron Eschete. He teaches full-time and plays regularly with the Dave Irish group. He has also performed with Leon Patillo, former keyboardist for Santana.

Charles is also the author of Rock Guitar for Dummies, published by eMedia, makers of America’s best-selling music instruction software.

Charles offers college credit through Bellevue College and is also a Community Based Instructor for Columbia Virtual Academy.

He is also a summa cum laude graduate of Whitworth College, with a degree in sociology/psychology.
